What's that!

Just noticed, but what's with my wonderful survey. Wow two votes. 100% participation with my readers.

No title today

Really not sure what to write about today, cause my mind is blank. (this is the part where you say "we know"). It's been a while so I'll just see if something pops to my mind. Yup something did, we got back from hockey practice just now and it's cold inside. So it's off to the hot tub after I'm done with you all. The last week had been busy working at Bedrock farm cleaning and getting ready for replacement birds. This great weather has made cleaning a lot faster and easier. Since last thursday and friday when we shipped, one barn is ready and the other in washing state. Not bad for a turnaround.
Gaylene is in Steinbach tonight at my Aunt Linda's viewing, she is not able to get to the funeral tommorow, so she wanted to go tonight. Yes another preview of our mortality. When will we catch on that we are all heading in that direction, and truly live like we know. Yes I have a thought in my mind. I wonder if this makes sense or not, but why do we live the way we see others live, like in a way we don't want them to live? Huh. I'm just thinking here, so bear with me. Unless you think I'm perfect, in which case I'd be the only one, and I'm Not, we all screw up. We don't like screw ups, so why do we act like screw-ups. Lost you? Me too. I had a person come to me and claim that church was not for him cause there were too many hypocrites and personal agendas happening. So I informed him. I told him we are all sinners at heart and the only way to have a perfect church was to kick everyone out. Maybe that would make everyone happy, to empty the church and bring it out to the streets! I'm not sure what he thought but it did make me think. The greatest satisfaction I have in going to church is knowing that I don't go to church to find perfect people. I'm not sure about you, but I want to live for the Lord and not screw that up because of some people we don't feel lovey dovey for. People that might even be hypocritical, need to be there.
Well where did that come from eh! Oh yeh my Aunt. Memories are truly a gift from God. I have lots of them, since she was our neighbor. Too the Dueck family, be proud and hold on to those memories you have. Someday we will all share in them.
Blayze is here waiting to get picked up from hockey practice and I hear him shouting "come on shoot you nincompoop". Kids always have all the answers.
Aaryn got her bedroom back after I finally finished her lamenate floor. Wow what a pain in the ankle. Never do that again. Dennis painted and so after Aaryn's back in it's back to the bathroom for some tiling. I'm not sure if I'll ever finish with the renovating. It sure would be nice to actually live in a finished home. HOT TUB GONE NOW. SORRY FOR THE BORING BLOG BUT YOUR READING IT! See yah.

blah blah blah

Aaryn played her last day of volleyball today. This did not sink in until early this morning when I realized that not only was this her last tournament of the year but that it was over as graduation is this spring. So I made the trek to Gimli to watch one of her games. Where has all the time gone? It seems so recent when I took her to school in kindergarten. There sure is a lot of reminders about our aging. Like watching the midgets play tonight, having coached some of them since squirts. Adison and Jayms are right behind Aaryn and before I know it Gaylene and I will be home alone. So I quickly remind myself not to live in the past but continue to look to the future for there are so many great promises ahead.
Tomorrow morning is turkey loading time at Darren's. I've got three weeks of barn cleaning and then it's back into my barn for the start of another year of egg picking. We have our labour force in place so it's been a little easier sleeping at night. Speaking of barn cleaning, I'm actually looking forward getting out and more into the physical part of work. I've been doing a lot of bookkeeping and getting my office back into somewhat of shape. Hope the weather stays decent.
Hockey is well on it's way into the season. I'm looking forward to the challenge this year to make our team more competitive. We have a large team with a lot of players that need a lot of work. Do I have what it takes to push the kids forward? I really struggle with kids that seem not to care about their improvement. Why should they play? Fair play or equal play? Do I push my way into the fair play and away from equal play? Some kids don't have the stamina to play at a high level like others. What about special teams and disciplinary issues. Dressing room behavior? You guessed it. Parents won't be happy when their kid starts sitting. Hey it does not matter what skill you have but you had better do your best!
Got to go to bed, have a great day or night or whatever you do.

Don't be fooled

These last two weeks have been not so normal for us, but all worked it self out. Gaylene's mom stayed for 6 days and then we took her home. She is doing great! Thanks for all the praying that's been going on out there. Since I've turned 40+ something like that, I've really been doing a lot of thinking of how short life is and the reality of aging is indeed real. My brother-in-law Larry suddenly had some intestine malfunction which sent him packing into the hospital. Just short of surgery his insides almost as suddenly straighten itself out. Really PAINful stuff. Doctor's have no answers to why his intestines got twisted. I don't really like hospitals so much, but I guess when we need them it's good to know that we have really good people of nurses and such working them. We are all aging, just in case you did'nt know. With age comes our end time. But reality has it that age has nothing to do with when we will leave this planet. All in God's time and nothing to do with when I think it should be. We need to live for God today!
Hey I've got high speed! Now I've gotten it twice in the last year. Our workers from Newfoundland came in yesterday and since Bayshore rented the apartment for them we installed my xplornet so they could have internet. So with Lakenet up and running it has given me a new meaning of highspeed. Xplornet is so slow. Yes we hired a couple from way out on the east coast. Both plan to work and they are so excited to be here. Before I look like the cartoon farmer here, I'm off to bed! Goodnight!

humour some

It's been awhile since I've been here and it's time to go to be so here's my joke of the day!

Fred comes in late afternoon after golfing with his good friend Dennis. He informs his wife about the terrrible time golfing. His wife asks why and he says Dennis dropped dead after 10 holes. Fred's wife say's "That's terrible". Fred replies, well not as terrible as what happened after he dropped dead. All nine holes remaining I took a shot and dragged Dennis, took a shot and dragged Dennis, took a shot and dragged Dennis.

Winter is coming

As if we really want this to happen? Looks like it might rain or snow or something like that. But what a great last couple of weeks. I spent most of today in my office, and after hiring a couple from Newfoundland did a lot of prep work for this to happen. They are leaving this Wednesday and should be here late next week. So I can finally forget the employee search thing. Nov. 20 is the date Darren ships out his flock and then the busyness starts. We are still expecting the Grad class to help load this flock to help with their fundraising.
Jayms has played his first two hockey games this weekend. I'm very optomisitic about our season this year. Adison is not playing hockey this year so we'll make him take up Knitting or something instead. This should work eh! Gaylene is still Gaylene. Always busy with something or someone. blah, blah, blah I'm not too good at this diary stuff so I'll wait until I have something reckless to say. God bless!
Actually I have something important to say. Gaylene's Mom is here with us and her open heart surgery on monday was a great success. Praise God for he is good! Mom will be staying with us until she feels good enough to go home. It's so very important for family to keep praying and searching out other Christians to pray together with. Thank-you to all that have prayed for our Mom. Saturday as Roger and I drove to Ashern I once again could'nt help but be amazed at how God answers prayers through people whose lives have been so tragically altered. How this family can get through this is only by way of prayer. We need to support the Friesen family as they also go through the health concerns of their mother.
