Way of the Master Reading

I've been praying that god creates this kind of confidence, in the fact that he is indeed is alive in my life. Read this on Way of the Master website. To-day is Sunday and I'm working along with Aaryn. We had a great day and a half at the Radisson inn. Gaylene's sister and her husband will be leaving back for Fresno, Ca. We had a great visit with them all week.

Anybody really happy about school starting???? Pray for all of us!

If you know the Lord, nothing will shake your faith. It is true that the man with an experience is not at the mercy of a man with an argument. Take for example a little boy who is looking at a heater. His father warns him that it's hot. The child says, "O.K. I believe it's hot." At that point, he has an intellectual belief that the heater is hot. When his Dad leaves the room, he says, "I wonder if it really is hot?" He then reaches out his little hand and grabs the heater bar with his fingers. The second his flesh burns he stops believing the heater is hot. He now knows it's hot! He has moved out of the realm of "faith" into the realm of "experience."

In comes a heater expert and says, "Son, I have a B.A. in the study of heat. The heater is definitely not hot. I can prove it to you." The child would probably say, "Mr Expert, I don't care how many B.A.'s you have. I know that heater is hot -- I touched it! I'm not in the realm of belief, I'm in the realm of experience. Goodbye."

If you have touched the heater bar of God's love and forgiveness, if the Holy Spirit has "born witness" that you are a child of God (Romans 8:16), if you have received the Gospel with "power, the Holy Ghost and much assurance" (1 Thessalonians 1:5), you will never be shaken by a skeptic.

When cults tell you that you must acknowledge God's name to be saved, that you must worship on a certain day that you must be baptized by an elder of their church, don't panic. Merely go back to the Instruction Manual. The Bible has all the answers, and searching them out, will make you grow.

If you feel intimidated by atheists -- if you think they are "intellectuals," read the book, God Doesn't Believe in Atheists. It will show you that they are the opposite. It will also instruct you on how you can prove God's existence, and also prove that the "atheist" doesn't exist.

Finally, the way to prevent sporting injury and pain, is to keep yourself fit. Exercise. The Apostle Paul kept fit through exercise. He said, "Herein do I exercise myself, to always have a conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men" (Acts 24:16). Do the same. Listen to the voice of conscience. It's your friend, not your enemy. Remember the words of Solomon:

"Fear God and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).

Keep the Day of Judgment before your eyes. On that Day, you will be glad for the cultivations of a tender conscience.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope the principles expounded have been helpful, and that any knowledge you have gained from it, will some day save you some pain.

I'm back

I'd appologize, but this is my blog so I can do what I want. So if you enjoy this blog so much as to be back, I thank-you and I will fill you in a bit what happened in the last few weeks. but not now as I'm having breakfast. In short we went camping at clear Lake, rented a pondtoon boat, ski boat and supported the local merchants. Jayms has been in Winkler for Hockey/Bible camp as the two need to be together. Gaylene's family is out for the week, cause Aaryn is being baptised this weekend. I do indeed have the greatest daughter and I'm so proud of her. Stay posted as I have some interesting thoughts in mind!

leaking roof

The Grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8 Nearly all of our time, at least for myself is spent repairing, upgrading, or maintaining personal property. Either the dishwasher leaks, or a door falls off, but there always seems to be something wrong or broken to be busy with. When does it ever happen that the broken window healed itself or the dirty dishes in the sink washed themselves? We always seem to spend time looking after ourselves, cutting hair, painting faces or seeing a doctor about the growth on our foot. Rarely do we actually improve our own image as the weeks go by. Is it not comforting to know that God never changes, but as time goes on our place in heaven is actually improving each day he spends preparing it? He said "I go and prepare a place for you". Do we need to pray more? Absolutely! Does god hear and answer our prayers? He always does. Maybe he already has answered a major crisis in your life.....you just don't know it......God controls even Time.

Yes we are going on holidays tommorow morning to clear lake for five days. Aaryn was able to get off work, and so we all will be able to spend quality family time. Today we are preparing (interesting enough the truck needs repair). Jayms is still at Kyle's place having a great time at Kyle's Birthday overnighter.

Gaylene and myself spent a overnighter in Winnipeg tuesday to Wednesday at the Radisson hotel, to mark our 22 anniversary. We had dinner together at Boston Pizza in the late evening and spent the rest of the night enjoying the pool, hot tub, and tarrice overlooking the city from the 13th floor.

Everyone's Forgot?

Let's be serious now. Anyone actually think that Ryan Dimwiddie will win us games? Last week was a case some good fortune and a team's defense not being that good. Let's not forgot so soon last years grey cup game.
This guy does not have a arm that can throw with any velocity. He needs receivers to help him look good. I say bring back Glenn!

Most of you contractors and other types of Employment people that are out there sitting back and enjoying this Saturday, I'm telling you it's not fair, as I have to work this weekend again. I'm sure you probably don't care, but since your bored enough to be reading this, I must be right. I also need to fix the leaky toilet in the house. We have been renovating our bathroom for a while now and when your toilet leaks the second time around since first starting the project, it must mean it's dragged on a bit too long. It's forcing me to start the floor tiling since the toilet will be off. Adison will hopefully help in the barn a bit. Jayms has Nathan Friesen over today. I'm amazed how tough these young kids are mentally dealing with such a great loss as Nathan has experienced. Gaylene has been reading up on this so she can help when reality of the situation hits him. She will have her hands full come this fall going back to school. Aaryn's at work later today (3:00-11:00). I'm so proud of her and all our children, but they are growing up to fast.
