Mom's heart

Got back from the city today from picking up Gaylene who was with her Mom. Mom had surgery yesterday. They are checking the condition of her heart in preparation for a more serious open heart surgery. Gaylene and her siter in law stayed with Mom at the victoria Inn as she had to be watched for 48 hrs. She seems to be in good shape as she met up with us a Boston Pizza. It was actually a good drive in today as the weather was great and after having our turkeys back in the barn and on schedule again I feel a little more relaxed. Ken and Bevin are still combining and were hoping to finish before Monday's rain. Looks like that won't happen as they have not yet moved to the last field. It's amazing how much it has dried up in the last few weeks, but there are still some pretty wet areas. I watched as Bevin combined through a few wet spots with the back tires of the combine dragging. I feel for farmers who have it a lot worse. Hockey is fast approaching and I have to start thinking about the committment to coaching. It looks like FisherBranch will once again join us, but this time the team will not be as big.(14-15)
I really enjoy working with the kids, but find it very hard to work along side with someone. I feel the need to be completely in charge, or else I back off too much. I think when I lost some of this control towards the end of last season, I backed off too much and lost focus. With the coaches that I might be working with this year, I feel I should be comfortable. I know one thing for sure, and that is our children need to be informed that they are at the rink to learn hockey and we expect them to listen and do what they are told, skill or no skill. I want to be able to teach a simple offensive and a simple defencive system that any player can do well with regardless of their skill level. I've been reading back a bit on my blogging and want to get into some more of what our family is into. I also feel the need to vent and put my thoughts into words when I feel the need. I hope I don't offend anyone here, as I do have concern for many people I rub shoulders with. God is alive and is working in many lives. I love our church were I see many people with their own set of problems, be able to get together and enjoy each others' company. I love watching young kids grow up and take leadership. Guys like Nathan, Jeremy, Kurt and the other Jeremy (Dyck). Neat to see them on stage for praise and worship. Great place to be on Sunday morning when you've had a long hard week. Of course i think it's great to see Aaryn take leadership in youth. Aaryn's going to be 18 this next spring. She wants to be a teacher and plans are underway to go to U of W next fall. And this Nathan guy that she hangs around with, it's been neat getting to know him a bit more. Jayms loves to have his friends over. Him and Nathan Friesen see each other often. He often talks about Klye and Blayze his other good friends. Loves to have them over, or over there. Adison is maturing so quickly it's hard to see him as he was a year ago. He's not sure about hockey this year, being in Midget this year it's going to be a step for him. I think if the right people coach I'm sure he will play.
Have a great night!
